Upgrades from the Jet Target of E760

  • Nozzle Cooling System:

    from Liquid Nitrogen (/e835/people/80K) to a cryogenic refrigeration system (working temperature 15-35K).


  • Pumping System:

    new configuration for the entire system.


  • Nozzle Alignment System:

    vertical, horizontal and angular movements to align the stream of clusters with the geometrical axis of the machine.

  • User Interface:

    development of software in LabView for Macintosh which
  • monitors and datalogs the condition of the machine;
  • interfaces the user with all the devices of the machine (control system, pumps, stepping motors);
  • automatically changes the value of the density to keep the luminosity of the experiment constant.
