Shift report 9/12/96 16:00 - 24:00 (SP) --> set voltages, timing, establish trigger, setup daq <-- On shift EM, KG, MT, MC, SB, GZ, SP Beam ~11 ma, gas-jet 8 * 10 **13 (p=3psia, t =22K), lifetime ~ 73 hrs. H1, H2, CKOV - voltages set, timed to trigger and adc's H2' - voltages set Outer straws turned on for first look - reasonable currents and signals. Inner straws - "mysterious" current draw. EM suspects some moisture due to lack of air-conditioning. (EM, SA, SB) CCAL timings measured on 1120/1280 counters (MT, SA, KG, MC, SP) DAQ: set up first real gates from trigger through master mlu to prescalers to gatemaste - one trigger works with daq - gates for counters and ccal set up, some problem with gates for Sci-Fi. Lum Monitor report: Todd writes: First of all, the beam is likely centered properly horizontally. The counts in the elastic peak in each of our fixed detectors, which straddle the nominal beam line, are nearly equal (to about 2%). Secondly, i've done a rough estimate of the instantaneous luminosities we've been seeing for the past 13 hours. (SP comments - we guessed somewhat lower) from 12am to 8am: average inst luminosity of 9.3 x 10^29 cm^-2 s^-1. from 8am to now: average inst luminosity of 8.7 x 10^29 cm^-2 s^-1. The drop seems consistent with a constant gas jet density of 8.4 x 10^12 as reported, and the current in the AA (which has dropped from about 13.5 x 10^10 at 4am to 12 x 10^12 or so at 10am.)
