This is a trivial summary of today's work: 1st October: CP, KG, GZ, XF, MT, RC, FM, SP, JS, ER, WB, SA, SB, SF, RM, PR. Around 0 hours, S. Werkema decelerated the beam to ~ psi-prime energy (actually 3687.02 MeV, a little above as requested, sigma(E_cm)=0.3MeV) Starting around 04:00, data were written to tape and by 22:00 about 11.7 Mega interactions were written using the e+e- trigger which was PBG3*c_mlu1 + c_mlu2 where c_mlu1 = 2e*h2<5 plus 1e*2c*(H2=2) c_mlu2 = 2e*(copl)*(H2=2) We ran at a typical luminosity of 5*10**30 with a beam current of 24 mA; some data were taken at 1*10**31. The daq and monitor behaved quite well. At a trigger rate of 500 Hz the livetime was ~ 95% - limited only by the tape-writing speed. The online tagger (Rosanna herself applied the cerenkov cuts) saw a number of candidate J/psi's. Around 22:00, the beam was given to S. Werkema for deceleration by 1.7 MeV (lab momentum). The plan is to take 4 hrs at 10**31 luminosity. If there are still good events in this running, we will ask to decelerate again by about 3 beam widths (4 MeV lab) to take a background point. I believe we are committed to turn the source back for studies around 10:00 a.m. Stephen Pordes
