E835 Weekly Meeting Minutes -- January 13, 2000 (KEG reporting) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: Weekly Meetings are held Tuesday and Thursdays at 5pm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The cryostat system has stabilized. The system was losing liquid helium from the dewar; the trend has been reversed. During the next access opportunity there is still some leak work to be done. The VLPCs have under gone some LED testing. Further testing will be done on Friday at different temperatures. These tests will help determine the operating temperature of each cassette. The tests will use the entire DAQ and detector online monitoring system. After the operational temperatures are set and when an access can be made, the clear fibers will be connected to the cassettes (8-12hr). The FCAL 1ON-1OFF test was performed. ADC and TDC data were recorded. The results are being tabulated. There is one CCAL channel not connected in the pit and will be attended to during the next access. With the help of a half dozen computing division experts, the SCSI bus resets of the tape drive busses has been fixed. The new tape drives react differently than the the old drives to a specific sequence of events. The DAQ system setup of the tape drives has been changed so that this sequence doe not occur; it also means that there will be an added step to unloading the tape drives. The 1996-97 gold files will be removed on Monday to make room for the data files to be written for the upcoming run. Before removal, the files are being spooled off onto 10 tapes (grouped by E_cm and ordered by run number on tape). 10 master tapes will be in AP50 while an additional 10 tapes will be available for use in the trailers. There are also plenty of traditional backup tapes of these file systems. The current schedule is the following: Now to 08:00 Jan 22 Stack with 1 hour of gas jet operation test (no stacking) 08:00 Jan 22 to 08:00 Jan 24 beam-jet interactions and access 08:00 Jan 24 to ?? stack There was a long discussion about how to use the 48 hour period between stacking. Below are the 7 semi-sequential periods, the main people are in {} and the estimated time is in []: 1. [3hr] Move beam to central orbit, set cooling etc {S Werkema, G Stancari} Turn Gas Jet on {S Pordes}, Turn on H2' counter(s) {E Menichetti} Vertical beam scan with H2' read-back {SW, GS, K Gollwitzer} Observe luminosity monitor signals {D.
