The purification of helium is nearly done and helium will flow to the antiproton source later today. The debuncher cooling systems that need liquid helium will need ~12 hours to reach the final temperature. The plan is to continue debuncher studies until early afternoon. Then stacking studies without cooling will be done during the cool down (could possible get up to ~0.2mA/hr) Some time during the evening/owl shift the cooling will be turned on. After cooling is confirmed, then further stacking studies involving rate and protons on target will be done. The current thinking is to possibly stop stacking and start E835 jet-beam interaction studies around 1600 tomorrow (Sat.). I will send out updates and any plan changes between 1800-2000 today and 0800-0900 tomorrow. Keith ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some stacking studies are currently in progress at < 0.1mA/hr without the cooling functioning. The current cool down temperatures are the following (note that liquid helium is the collant): Transfer line 22K First tank 40K Last tank 200K It is estimated that the tanks will be cold sometime late on the owl shift. I'll send another update after 0800 tomorrow. I think we are still looking to turn on the jet on tomorrow's evening shift. Keith
