A60 is under vacuum! Yesterday both tanks were rolled onto the beam line, surveyed in, and bolted into place. By 1800 pump down had begun. Today, an external leak check will be done. Assuming all goes well and the ion pumps come on, a thermal cycle of tank 4 will be done and the tank checked cold with the RGA. Debuncher beam startup tonight and bakeout beginning tomorrow looks probable. Start checking the shift schedule.... Regards, Elvin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- summary of e835 meeting 3/28/00 present: garzoglio, robutti, legger, obertino, graham, seo, gollwitzer, stancari (g), stancari (m), pordes, negrini, baldini, rosen, kasper, marchetto, vidonovic, boca We may get our first stack since 3/16 (the second stack since the shutdown in February) as early as Monday next week. We should discuss plans for this at the thursday meeting. The pbar source is thinking that this will be a small stack (~10 ma) and it would be good that any needs for commissioning, fixing, verifying, trying out detectors and filters get done with this beam - so it would be good to have a plan in hand for this. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Supervised access finishes at 2 pm wednesday. The debuncher will start up wednesday night. Controlled accesses may be possible thursday daytime depending on how the "bake" is going. Gabriele described the web page he has made (with some help from Federica) that allows people to make stuff (eg ps files they have) available to the E835 home page. Data can be either "private" - ie available only to people with the 835 password or public - available to anyone who can see our home page. For details see the 835 home page..(I assume) No-one else had anything to report. Jerry moved a motion to adjourn - and we did. Stephen
