Summary of Day Shift 02/03/00
On shift: JK, SS, KEG, NP

9:18 Deceleration began with a beam current of 19.3 mA

While waiting for the first ramp to end, we investigated the nonworking
phone on the desk by the online computers. We decided to call the experts to
fix it.

9:28 First ramp ends with 18.7 mA
10:36 Steve Werkema calls (one of many this shift). The beam is stable at Ecm
      = 3557.88 MeV.

The straw HV module was changed.
The file for the phi-mlu was changed to phi_mlu_03feb00.dat
Thresholds for H1 were raised from 30mV to 60mV (config00.dat).
Threshold file for the N.T. was changed to thresh_chi_hc_etacp.dat.

11:05 Gas Jet turned on.
11:41 Run 5101 begins, but
11:45 KEG reboots Jet Mac. While rebooting spike in rate caused beam energy
      loss.
11:55 S. Werkema asks for Jet off to recover beam energy. Run 5101 aborted.
      Tapes will be overwritten. 
12:30 Gas Jet on
12:35 Start of run 5102. We notice that the online display of the inst.
      luminosity is not working. The offline calculation is good, though.
13:00 ACNET data is not being received. S. Werkema says P77 is running, but
      data is not being sent to E835.
13:17 Some of the online charged trigger histograms are zero. WB is called 
      and fixes the problem (cable was out of the phi CMLU)
13:40 ACNET error on P77 points to E835 process. Restart and then we got 
      data.
13:44 first good orbit
13:45 Straw II off. It is drawing too much current.
14:20 S. Werkema says ACNET data is not being written. Stop Run 5102.
      Summary of 5102 is at the bottom of the email.
14:24 drt_fresh_start performed. GM 3 rate changed (prescaled changed to 8)
      so that all tapes should now fill up at approximately the same rate.
      Run 5103 begins.
14:37 Run 5103 aborted. Still problems with ACNET process.
14:45 Run 5104 begins. ACNET data is being received!
15:00 Falling rates pointed us to a clogged Jet Target nozzle. We used the 
      procedure in the JT log book to clear it out.
15:05 S. Werkema calls. There was a miscommunication about what had been 
      updated in P77 (where beam energy is calculated). The reference orbit 
      has not changed so like the psi' the true beam energy may be +1 MeV
      higher than what is currently recorded. Guilio is updating P77.
15:37 Jet is set to 1.3x10^14 and put in regulating mode.

Plan is to use a total of 2 mA at this point (stop at 15.9 mA).
