On shift: SP, MN Present: JK, KG, FM, WB, PR Initial beam current: 6.22 mA Final beam current: 4.5 mA (beam started to fall out of machine around 23:30 - lost 0.5 mA in last 30 minutes) Aim of Shift: Minbias Timing, watch while phi-phi(-gamma) filters are installed by WB, KEG and FM, revert to standard data after all the changes. Shift started with continuation of min-bias timing runs (1/8 CCal on at a time) Run 5417 ended. JK restored HV to full calorimeter. 16.50: M. Hu called from AP10 to say that energy is drifting and the sigma of beam is increasing. 17.30: Run 5418 (no log) to test for restablishing conditions after JK restored HV. 17.40: CCAL block R10W26 is missing from the online monitor. MS checks that signal is present at the shaper input but not at the output. Shaper will be replaced after dumping stack. 17:50 Wander starts to work on phi-phi trigger. 18.00: No signal come from phi-phi trigger. WB found that phi-MLU module output needs to be reconfigured (old conf.file had been used by mistake). 18.00: M. Hu and S. Werkema called to say that some supply, diode or tube is not working in the cooling system. Cooling power available is only 1/2 of what it should be so we need to continue to run at low density (at present: 0.8e14cm^-3, L ~0.3*e31). The problem is in the tunnel and will be fixed tomorrow morning. 19.00: KG, FM, WB started debugging code for the phi-phi and phi-phi-gamma filters. 20.00: Filters debugged. No crash in ~10 min. of running. Set a new software trigger to accept event passing this analysis: KPRID=32. Runs 5421-5428 used in debugging. 22.30: Problem with DYC10... Problem identified by looking at event dump as downstream of the TDC's (problem in 32 bit word => DYC or Dart Cable. PR fixed it just unplugging/plugging the DART cables in DYC. 23.40: Run 5431 start - finally. It is a psi' run. phi-phi filter is now running (there is no prescaling factor - congratulations.) However, the beam is now falling out of the machine. Run 5431: Init. beam curr.: 4.8 mA Jet density : 0.77e14 cm^-3 Luminosity : 2e30 cm^-2 s^-1 Beam momentum : 6231 MeV/c Good night to everybody (... e buona giornata a chi legge dall'Italia)!
