Summary for 6/12/00 8:00-16:00 On Shift: JK,SS Log Book #8 Pages 82-86 Run Summary: 1P1 (3528.5 MeV) Beginning Current : 27.4 mA Final Current : 22.7 mA Typical Luminosity: 2.5x10^31 cm^-2 s^-1 Typical Beam Width: 1.5 MeV/c Run Integrated Luminosity 5811 341 nb^-1 5812 Handed over to Evening Shift Comments: 8:30 Keith arrives to help with the unresettable DAQ hanging (see owl shift summary). We have left the gas Jet on while the problem is being fixed since, as Giulio pointed out, it is perhaps better to lose 0.7 mA/hr for an hour than take a chance on losing much more by turning the Jet off and on and introducing a potential instability into the beam. 9:15 DYC's 3&5 were replaced, but that didn't fix the problem. Keith surmised that the problem was due to double pulsing somewhere. He traced the signal back to a discriminator with a coupled output where the other output was terminated. After moving to an uncoupled output, the problem went away. The terminator tested ok, so the coupled output is assumed to be bad. For the record, the potentially bad coupled outputs are the lower left on the discriminator in slot 4 of rack 11. 9:28 Run 5811 begins. 13:46 Run 5812 begins. Good Afternoon, Jason & Seon-Hee that didn't fix the problem. Keith surmised that the problem was due to double pulsing somewhere.
